Shafts of excellent width, feel like standard earrings. (Other brands of clear earrings I've tried were too thick since I wasn't trying to expand my piercing.) The posts are very long, but it's actually more comfortable/comfortable for sleeping as I can easily rotate them so they stand parallel to my head. For everyday wear you can cut the pins shorter and they are soft/narrow enough to be cut with regular scissors. The heads are hollow cones. So if you want to stick on an amulet or similar, you may need to fill the cone with a small dab of super glue first to get a flat surface. The only downside is that if you're really trying to hide piercings, they don't do as well as muddy acrylic/plastic (even muddy ones with ball heads). Not pulling these Beadnovas all the way allows them to catch light, and when you pull them all the way out, the cone shape that makes them disappear means your piercing hole looks obvious. This can also make them more suitable for sports, since nothing sticks out that you could get caught on.
