I just bought one of these on Revain for $116 but most of the ads I've seen on eBay and Revain cost a little more. I have to say, even though you had a styrofoam mess, I had an even bigger mess. I just unboxed it and tried to put it on a stand and I have these little styrofoam balls EVERYWHERE. They're all over the hardwood floor and on the coffee table in the living room where I unpacked it. I suspect my wife won't be happy when she sees it in the morning if I don't clean it up. Difficult to clean without a vacuum cleaner. I can't use any of these because it will wake her up and she will know what I'm doing. : ) The stand that stands on it is complete crap. The device is not nearly level when placed on the stand. I think whoever welded the attachment points of the legs to the stand just welded them at the angle they liked at the time. And when you screw it to the plate that the legs attach to, it stands at an angle. After trying a few different ways to see if there was a specific way it needed to be attached to make it straight I gave up and got a board to mount it on. The 1/4" screws are perfect for attaching to the board. My first try was to drill holes in the middle of the back panel to make it more stable. Rad. :) The color of the unit is also complete crap. Numerous large areas where they just stopped painting for some reason. it's probably worth what I paid for it. This is definitely better than using a hand sewing machine to sew thick pieces of leather or canvas together. My suggestion to anyone buying one of these would be to unwrap it from the outside and after throwing the large chunks of styrofoam in the trash, use the sheet. a blower or air nozzle on your store's compressor to blow off fine styrofoam granules. I'm in the Houston area and you would think that since it's so humid here we wouldn't have an issue with static cling styrofoam particles, but even here those granules stick to everything. My suggestion to anyone buying something like this would be, unwrap it from the outside and toss the big chunks of broken styrofoam in the trash. Use a leaf blower or the air nozzle on your shop air compressor to blow out all the small styrofoam granules.
