So originally this USB charger was supposed to hang on the steering wheel but I tried to model it and I don't like it on the steering wheel at all as it looked out of place and wouldn't fit on the aftermarket speedometer bracket , and I didn't like the idea of using the handlebar bolts to clamp the plastic bracket to hold the USB. So I decided to remove the fuel tank center panel which was damaged by something else. Anyway it got installed there eventually so I got the idea to create and enlarge a hole big enough for a USB charger and I installed it there which turned out to be very good. The instructions don't really make much sense, shows the accessory port is on the back of the ecu, if I have a 2016 it's on the right hand side behind the plastic air intake cover. But it was very easy to connect to the factory wiring harness, which is great. Only lights up when the key is present which is an added bonus. But as other reviewers have said, it's made from very cheap materials, I doubt the plastic bracket that holds the USB to the handlebars will take the clamp load of the handlebars. Screws on the handlebars and the metal ring that surrounds the actual USB have already broken on me, so that a slot no longer holds the USB plug very firmly. Overall it's a decent product but in hindsight I could have bought a regular USB charger for 1/3 the price and just installed it in the same place as this one.
