I buy one of these cases every few months because they crack and chip and the legs wear out. So I've bought from another manufacturer before that costs about $5 less and this case seems better. Don't worry about scratches or metal-to-metal contact. Overall, I like how this case fits and snaps into place. By the way, I accidentally pulled the computer off the table. the case prevented a serious dent, I had to buy a new case, but I'd rather have a cracked case than a permanently dented aluminum MBP!
