Went with a reviewer who said they bought for a child under the recommended age and bought for my friend's son who is 2 years old. She sent a photo of him wearing it and said he wore it all day and she loves it! It has a wide brim and a cap around the neck, which is very important in the desert! Unless you have a super small head, definitely get this for a younger age. laugh out loud!
