They're great for what I wanted them for, something compact to carry in my pocket when I need to take a call or play some light music. They are compact and easily fit in my bag as I'm on the go all the time. I'm a bit of an audio snob and have had many headphones over $500 and it certainly isn't. I was bought for her. The mids of most music are pretty muffled, and the bass can be quite boomy when the earbuds actually fit the ears snugly. Your answer works really well for voices, and there are also brief bits of proper instrumentation when they sound perfect. The big plus is that they're easy to hear for long periods (if you're happy with the lower fidelity) and they handle the voice fairly well (i.e. good for calls). Stay on the plane for 2.5 hours and then talk on the phone for an hour or two without any problems. There was an odd quirk where after a short charging session (10 minutes) they reported a 70% charge, but then they died after about 8 minutes, but that's a tough situation for batteries. I was hoping the silicone would block out the noise a little more. Headphone stuff and they do pretty well. Not as powerful as the old Koss "The Plug" headphones (Koss - make them wireless!) but enough to soften the crying of a baby/people on a plane telling their life story etc. Overall they do something I want to, and if you're listening to pop music or simple guitar music, does the extra clarity really matter? Probably no.
