High-performance masterpieces really stay in place on rough terrain

High-performance masterpieces really stay in place on rough terrain, but when they arrived and I saw how well made they were, bought I'm hoping to get another pair to protect my elderly Pyrenees' foot; She has an Achilles tendon injury in her back leg and sometimes taps and scrapes her bunions with that foot. At the moment she has a wound that will need bandages to heal but so far I have not been able to make anything that is secure and weather resistant when she is outside. I didn't believe in it. There may have been dog shoes that would actually hold and protect a dog's paw - we've been through so many things that didn't live up to expectations - but I figured with a full set of four (no matter) I'd get through at least four have to as they inevitably get lost as I only use one shoe on the injured foot. But to my great surprise and delight, they absolutely remain! At first I only used it when I was with her to keep an eye on things, but they worked so well that today I finally sent them on morning patrols in one of them. She skirts her possessions and traverses any terrain - forests, fields, hills and hedgerows; rocky, snowy, muddy - so I didn't have high hopes for the boot's return with it. And yet IT DID IT! Of course, she twisted it back because in the struggle to put it on her as she eagerly danced to the door to get out, I didn't tighten the bottom Velcro tight enough (make sure those straps are snug and snug!) - but still was it securely fastened. And it was dry inside so snow didn't seep through the collar. These booties are so cozy and beautifully finished. I turned one inside out (see photo) and the inside is fully lined with soft fleece, waterproof nylon on the tongue, and all seams are fully covered and securely sewn. I appreciate the addition of reflective material to make them (and them) easier to spot in the dark. And the Velcro straps have a strong hold (obviously!). They are longer than the wide ones (sole length 4 inches for a size 3.2 wide) but I think they could be a bit longer, at least for my pier who has a relatively long and thin paw. Her footprint in the snow was about 3 inches wide but I took a 3.2 (size 7) because I figured it was better to be too big than too small and I'm glad I did, as it is roomy enough for a bandaged paw. Conclusion: Every dog and its human should be enthusiastic about these little miracles. We of course!
