I thought it looked like some kind of rope with a coolant inside that activates when wet. But it's about the size of a scarf. However, it does help keep you cool. But it does get warm when worn, unless you're in front of a fan, in which case it's like an air conditioner around your neck, which is nice. However, it must remain moist. If it's not a fan, you'll need to detach and reload it from time to time and/or wave it in the air for a few seconds. There's a fine balance to how moist it needs to be. Not wet enough and it heats up quickly and dries quickly, too wet and it seeps through your clothes. But overall, while not what I thought it would be, I'll use it often.
