They have small plugs that plug into your device. USB2 and USB3 for Apple. Once you plug in the cables, the cables will fit all your devices. Each cable comes with all 3 types, so you can charge any device with the same cable. If you drop the device, the cable easily detaches without damaging the charging port or breaking the cable. They are dual polarized so you don't have to figure out which is up. Just bring the cable close enough to the connector and the magnet will pull it right in. My only problem is that I want to get a few more cables of different lengths. I intend to only use these cables in the future. They are cool
