Balanced cables seem to be all the rage now and some Kurzweil inputs are refusing to use the old fashioned mono jacks that are still popular. That's why I've turned to balanced CBI cables for the past few years, if only to save a few bucks. The problem is the screw cap at the end of the cable: after limited use, it's reluctant to screw down (constant twisting and twirling). I didn't feel like complaining as the cable still works (after a few coaxing and disconcerting moments), but professional electric keyboard playing is fraught with technological dangers without having to contend with a poorly made cable. He probably won. There's no harm in trying one out to see if you like it. My musical insecurities force me to look for a more reliable substitute.
