They are good for holding a candle by the window. I use them for windows without access to an outlet. (Our house is over 200 years old and the wiring sucks.) Just "click" the brackets in (make sure you click on the right side). I washed the window, wiped it with an alcohol wipe, wet the suction cups and stuck them to the window. Still holding on Let's see what happens when it gets colder and the windows start to "sweat". Satisfied so far.
