Let me first say that I have a lot of experience assembling unassembled furniture. And I will tell you that assembling this filing cabinet was far from "easy". It took me more than three hours to put this file together. Reason...the assembly instructions were poorly written and the pictures didn't match what you actually had to do. And it took 30+ steps to complete this build. After all... This filing cabinet from Vasagle is actually quite good. This is a much better quality than most ready to assemble furniture you will find out there. The quality of the wood and metal parts is very good and the equipment used to assemble them really keeps them intact. The cabinet and drawers are screwed together and secured with dowels. Together they form a single piece. There's even a fifth wheel that supports the document drawer. I love that the two drawers of the cabinet are lockable. This is definitely a good addition. And the second box is nice and deep. It can hold a lot more than just pens and pencils. And the file box can store A4 or Letter size files. The shelves and drawer fronts are bordered on both sides with wood decor. It's not the most attractive finish, but that's okay. The sides of the drawers and the back are laminated black so the entire cabinet is finished. When assembled, this filing cabinet is a very heavy and durable piece of furniture. I know it will serve me well and last a long time. I only wish it hadn't taken a whole evening to build.
