Review on Yongnuo YN-560IV: Upgraded 560III with YN-560-TX - 2.4G Wireless Flash Speedlite Trigger Controller for Canon Nikon Olympus Pentax by Matthew Miles

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Inexpensive flash solution that works really well

I've bought two of these flash drives so far and have had no problems with either. In fact, the first one is over a year old and has never given me any problems. These are MANUAL flashes, not TTL! I see so many reviews on this flash where the buyer gave it a low rating and a bad rating. Neither the manufacturers nor the flash itself are responsible for failure to read the list in full and for the buyer not to do their own research on the item they intend to purchase. controlled by Yongnuo 560TX wireless controller. Both flashes are 0.3 power levels adjustable and unless running at 1/4 power or more they tend to run fairly easily on 4 decent rechargeable AA batteries. The flash head "scales" from 24mm to 105mm both as a single unit and with the 560TX controller to put light where you need it. I haven't had any overheating issues yet, but I'm not working. them at maximum power to do the work of a higher powered flash. These are just simple, inexpensive flashes that do their job well. For almost half the price of some other products on the market, I'm happy to continue using them after seeing my other flash last over a year with pretty decent usage. In fact it will probably need to be replaced fairly soon to ensure the flashbulb matches the specs, color and brightness of the flash I just bought from Revain last week as part of a pending order. For Sony shooters who have Sony MI hot shoe models, both Canon and Nikon versions of this flash and the 560TX controller (both also available from Canon or Nikon) work great with Sony cameras. I use them all the time on several Sony bodies like a3000, a6000 and a68. No problem, make sure your flash is set to M or Multi, set your camera to flash fill in manual or program mode. First attach the flash or controller to the camera body, turn on the flash or controller, and then turn on the camera. Failure to install the flash and turn it on before turning on the camera will result in the camera not recognizing that it is attached.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Nothing
