Review on Efficient Electrical Extender with Straight Receptacle – Expand Your Power Outlets! by Alex Ferry

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It takes some trial and error, but it's great when you can get tricks.

First, the picture is deceiving. There are only 12 screws in this box, not 24. And each screw isn't long enough to go through the entire gasket, but that's okay as you'll probably never need a screw that long. This was fine for my job as most of my sockets had long enough screws and they only needed to insert a couple of spacers. In fact, some instructions should be included as they are not as obvious as they seem. The seals are made of soft plastic (strong exhaust smell), not hard plastic. This makes trimming easier and also gives you some leeway when trimming to the right length. Cut them a little longer than you think necessary, as the soft material can compress a bit, and be sure to add 1/8 inch beyond the wall surface for the depth of the bead. Screw in the base, check the cover for flushness, if necessary readjust the screws a little until the cover sits flush. The socket is stable after you screw it tight. Then put on the overlay and you have the perfect socket.

Pros
  • Fixing Wobbly and Recessed Outlets: The outlet extension kit provides an easier way to quickly fix alignment issues with wobbly or recessed outlets that aren't quite right; The long screws can measure the length for your switch and socket to screw the round straight tube flush to the wall
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging
