Review on Retevis Antenna Baofeng Kenwood Talkies by Juan Grayson

Bought as a small flexible antenna for easy carrying. I'm in areas that are in line of sight of repeaters, so the performance doesn't bother me much. For that matter, it works fine. This is significantly less than the 1/4 wavelength on VHF and UHF. So it probably won't be very efficient. However, I knew I would sacrifice efficiency for size. In this situation it worked well, which is why I gave it two stars. My problem is the construction. In just a few weeks, the rubber case on my PDA, which accompanies me across campus, completely detached from the metal base. If you wanted this for an access point, or perhaps a scanner that just sits on your desk, that would probably be fine. But he just can't survive with HT. If it can't survive the quiet life of its desks at uni and carry it around every now and then, I wouldn't recommend it at all.
