It looks good and works mostly as advertised. It needs some space behind it to accommodate the raised lid, so add about half an inch to the dimensions if you don't have a lot of room for installation. The plastic lid does not close completely when there is a bag of food in the container, as if the lid were too light to overcome the bag's slight resistance, even when I gently snuggle it against the container. Touching it with my fingers sets the lid properly, but the whole point of the foot pedal is that I don't have to fumble with the lid with my hands. The container is spacious, fits perfectly in a stainless steel box and is designed to hold a grocery bag without sagging when filled. The bin stays in place fairly well, doesn't walk or wobble like foot-operated plastic bins. For the price, however, I find that the lid should close without assistance. I would have paid a little more for a stainless steel lid, but there was none in this price range.
