I bought this speaker to add to my 7.1" wall/ceiling surround system. I bought the following speakers and receivers: Polk Audio 255C-RT (Center), Polk 265-LS x 2 (Front), Polk 80F/X-RT x 4 (Surround and Rear), Polk HTS 12 (Subwoofer), Denon AVR-x3600H. (Receiver) Although it is difficult to provide an individual overview of each speaker, as a system they work very well. They sound decent out of the box. One of my main concerns was how good it would sound if the LS and RT were mixed and matched in the same speaker setup. After the next trial, these concerns were quickly allayed. Once you've got the initial sound setup in place (Audyssey if you're using a newer Denon receiver), tweak the crossovers and experiment with other settings - these speakers sound fantastic once you get the configuration right. If you want to get the most out of these speakers, make sure you arrange them properly and follow the setup process to your liking. I installed the front and center channels on the wall and the back and surround back speakers on the ceiling. They are very easy to install. You will spend most of your time arranging your speakers and possibly speaker wiring.
