Based on the product photos I thought it would be a shiny silver finish. Instead, they are matte but still look beautiful. They have a firm grip and I don't have to worry about them slipping off like many plastic clips. Another reviewer mentioned a pen that holds the nib. With continued use, the pen may slip out of the nib. One of the pins was partially out of one of the clips when I got it, but I was able to put it back in. In general I like the brackets. They will look more professional than regular plastic clips.
