This is my favorite way to highlight the face and crown. The slightly porous side helps grip the hair so it stays close to the scalp and stays in place. Because it's more porous, you can also get the color very close to the scalp. When it expands with heat, it penetrates the paper instead of spreading over the edge like a foil. However, they tend to slide off at the back of the head (I don't know why) so I use foil there. But I love these. I'm very upset that my Cosmos and Beaches don't wear them anymore, so I have to buy them online with no discount from my stylist 😒
