Review on 🌸 ONHI Wireless Keyboard Case for iPad Mini 5/4 - Rose Gold, Auto Sleep/Wake, Silent Typing by Hunter Siemon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worth every penny. I love it!

I've been using the Zagg Slimbook keyboard with my iPad mini for a number of years. I use my iPad and keyboard a lot; It's almost a laptop replacement for me. I use it every day, sometimes several hours a day. I bought a new iPad Pro and almost just bought a new Zagg Slimbook because I loved my first one so much. I was very reluctant to try another brand because I doubted it would suit Zagg. I actually had a Zagg Slimbook in my Revain cart but kept coming back to have a look at this one. I admit it was the color because it matched my new rose gold iPad Pro. This color convinced me. Of course I read some reviews beforehand. All the reviews seemed good enough, so I decided to give it a try, assuming that if I don't like it as much as Zagg I'll just return it. And to be honest I didn't expect to like it that much so I expected to return it. I can't believe it, but I love it even MORE than Zagg. The feel of the keys when typing is perfect for me; enough mechanical action to get the touch feedback I need to type really fast, but no noise is ruled out. (I type blind and type something like 85 wpm). And of course, since my 10.5-inch iPad Pro is larger than my previous iPad mini, this keyboard is slightly larger so that all the keys are spaced just right. I estimate it's about 95% the size of my laptop's full-size keyboard. I'm pretty sure I type faster on this keyboard than on the Zagg, which I loved so much. Pairing was painless and quick. (Although I turned bluetooth off and on again the first time, I had to re-pair it. Hope this doesn't last. I've only turned it off once since I've had it.) I've had it a little over 48 hours, but I used it a lot (worked almost all weekend) and it met all expectations. I also like that you can change the backlight color (purple is my favorite at the moment) and that the backlight has 3 levels of brightness. One minor complaint is that the right shift key isn't exactly where I expect it to be. The up arrow key is where I expect to move. This seems to be the case with many portable keyboards (although this is not the case with my Zagg keyboard. On this one it was in the expected place). So sometimes I ended up going back to the top of the document (because I accidentally pressed the up arrow instead of the shift key). That was often the case in the beginning and it was frustrating. But I adapted pretty quickly, and now I'm typing as fast as I always have and shift-pressing accurately. It's a bit heavier than I would have liked, although maybe that's just because it's larger than my previous Zagg. I didn't compare the weight of this tablet to Zagg's for an iPad of this size. But for me that small weight difference is a small inconvenience. I don't often carry it with me. The only thing that lags a bit behind the Zagg Slimbook is that the Zagg case is detachable from the keyboard, so you can just carry an iPad without a keyboard but still in a case. This case does not detach from the keyboard. So if you want to use your iPad without a keyboard, you have to take it out and it's not in the case. Again, this is not a problem for me. I've never done this with Zagg; I just don't use my iPad that way. I use it like a laptop. But I see that this can be a problem for some people. I really like this keyboard. As long as you understand all the pros and cons above, feel free to buy it. It's cheaper than Zagg and even better for me. (But if you can't overcome the cons listed above, the Zagg Slimbook is also a very, very good option. I really liked it. The ONLY downside was the tiny size, but it was for my iPad mini, so I guess I did). what for the ipad pro it's more likely to be it has good action on the keys it's a little lighter (I suppose) and as mentioned you can detach the keyboard case the key is where you would expect it to be ) FYI - I received NO compensation for this review (no free product etc.). This is my completely independent review.
