The suction power of these lights is excellent! I bought a total of 5 different sized aquariums that either had built in lights that stopped working or weren't bright enough. The suction cups on all stayed in place and didn't come loose. The ability to change lighting and water resistance makes them a great and inexpensive alternative to replacing a lens hood or in some cases a lens hood that cannot be replaced so you can keep using the tank! Brightness is good, but I feel like I'd like a brightness level or two more. In general they are much better than the built in lights in most aquarium "kits".
