It's like two different pieces but attached to each other and that's fine. Once I figured out how and in what way to put it on, it was good. I like it. To identify which side is which, there is a label on the back directly inside the garment just below the waist. And you'll also know it's pointing in the right direction when the clips on the waste collection portion are facing forward. It doesn't fit tight so I'm glad I didn't order a size up. If you're used to very tight clothing, you might want to go down a size. I'm a size 18 but now I could be a size 16. I lost weight. It's not tight at all. It's just a little cozy. I might have to trade it in for a 16 but I don't think I will because it will still smooth my lines and I can't handle it if it's too tight. Also, it has 3 rows of clips on the waste collector/trainer part, so for the tightest fit, adding the third clip may be enough. I like that I can go to the toilet without taking everything off. This is an amazing, unique and very thoughtful benefit for which I am very grateful and impressed. They do this by keeping their backs open, which I also like because it keeps my back from sweating.
