Review on AmazonBasics Monitor Stand Computer Walnut by Quvarious Evans

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Stable stand

I use a 32 inch monitor and as I am visually impaired I need it close by. The bottom edge of the screen is too low for me. To bring it closer, I'd also prefer to have the keyboard sit under the monitor so I can slide the monitor onto my desk. A keyboard of this size sits completely under the stand and has just enough vertical height for my hands to type without the tops of my hands touching the bottom of the stand. My 32" monitor fits on it and I can slide the entire stand forward towards the front of the stand. my desk so I can get the monitor close enough. The height is good, so now I can see the bottom corners of the screen well; True, the top corners are slightly raised now (I have to look up), but that's because I have to hold the monitor so close. Given the choice, I would prefer the comfortable viewing of the bottom of the screen to the top corners. If the stand were 1/2 inch lower that would be fine, but then I would have the problem that my hands don't have enough room to type under the stand. This stand is very strong. It feels solid and doesn't wobble at all when moving. I tried some wire coasters and they weren't wide enough to fit my keyboard underneath, nor did they feel solid. Some of them had adjustable heights, but I believe that contributed to their weak feeling. Assembly was fairly easy with 4 screws, washers and the included hex wrench. There are also 4 sticky soft feet that can be attached on the bottom to prevent the metal feet from damaging your table surface. I would recommend this stand. Especially when you need to keep the monitor close and place the keyboard under the monitor and type. But even if you don't, the stand is solid and looks great on a table. I have the black version but you can get it in wood grain too. Once again, Revain Basics convinces with good design, just the right thing and no frills.
