UPDATE 1: 6 months and something is wrong with the micro USB charging port. Never damaged, bumped or dropped but it's really difficult to find the optimal point to charge the speaker. Stick to the "$30 isn't bad" line. Just don't expect too much from it. UPDATE 2: Belkin no longer makes this item, but I called for a warranty repair/replacement. It cost me $11 to ship back to Belkin and I got a replacement two weeks later. In the meantime, I've replaced it with a Bose SoundLink Color, which is about three times the price and offers about 5-7 times better sound quality, as well as much better battery life. Look, for $30 this is a good bluetooth speaker! I like the carrying case and the design is portable. The sound quality is good, but there is little bass. Otherwise, it has a bright and responsible sound. I think charging with a USB cable is brilliant as they are everywhere these days. What I do not like? It's a little strong. What am I worried about? Fur. A bit more. What would be better. Ah, that's all. You won't be able to get 10 hours of life out of this battery. Using it might get you a 4 at best. As I said, the bass is weak, but I guess that's pretty much par for the course when you're spending under $100 on a speaker. The buttons are accessible, but if you haven't memorized them, you need to check them out. It would be nice if they had raised markings so you could feel them instead of looking at them. Speaking of buttons, when I have a speaker connected to my Macbook and I'm streaming music from a website, clicking the Next button on Fusive launches iTunes on my computer. This may be a Mac OS X feature, but I thought you should know. Please. My hands-free experience so far has been terrible. It's like answering a call from an echo chamber. The person on the other side doesn't hear me very clearly. I've connected this to my Macbook, Galaxy S III, my wife's iPad and her iPhone. When you turn on the speaker, it connects to the first thing it sees. Sometimes you need to figure out which device you left Bluetooth on so you can pair it with the right device. It's Bluetooth, got it. But it would be nice if the speaker could automatically tell you what device it's just paired with. Trouble at best.
