My husband wore a cord necklace for many years. He never took it off. He was in a very bad car accident five years ago and the chain was the only thing that didn't get cut off. He then refused to NEVER remove it, but unfortunately it eventually fell apart. He wanted to replace it, but I couldn't find an exact copy. We looked at some (real) leathers but leather isn't really waterproof and my husband wears these things all the time - in the shower, swimming, boating etc. I saw this one and he specifically said that he is waterproof . I bought him a 20" and if he didn't like it we started looking again. Note: This is a waxed rope. Looks like leather, but it's not. It should not be pointed out that it is leather. My husband really likes it. Often wears a clasp in the front, I don't know if that's intentional or just slipped. takes a long time. I doubt he can survive the rope he had. But it does the job and my husband loves the locking mechanism. I think he looks good. Nothing depends on that. Cable only. It's not exactly what he wanted, but so far he's happy with it. If it breaks or wears out quickly I will update and re-evaluate.
