The design flaw seems to be that the base isn't big enough. I only weigh 130 pounds and the chair supports me perfectly when I'm sitting still, but as soon as I try to reach for something and my center of gravity shifts to the side, I feel like the chair is about to tip over. I bought two of these and they both felt the same, so I don't think it was a defect, just a clear design flaw. To be honest that would probably be fine because I think I'd have to lean really hard for it to actually fall, but the fact that it wobbled and tilted in the first place made me uncomfortable.
