I read some other reviews that seemed negative but I had no problems. I have an old Nikon slide scanner (LS-2000) which is a SCSI device. My old computer has an ADAPTEC SCSI card installed. But I wanted to use the scanner with my new computer and laptop. This cable did it. I followed the installation instructions and pre-installed the driver from the CD that came with it. Plugged in the scanner and the old scanner and software worked great from the start. This allowed me to get rid of my old desktop computer, which was only meant to run a slide scanner (because it had a SCSI adapter slot), and never had to worry about SCSI support again.
