Nice Scent, Low Lather, Probably Wouldn't Buy It

This is the first beard specific soap I've tried and it seems kind of strange to buy a bar of soap specifically for a beard. Maybe mine just isn't long enough to really appreciate this but I don't see the point of this soap. Assuming you are using a shampoo, some sort a facial cleanser and maybe some type of facial cream and/or shaving cream and aftershave, where does this fit in? I guess you could use it as your facial cleanser. This bar has a nice scent. It is pleasant, not overpowering and something I wouldn't mind smelling like. It seems the same as any other bar of herbal type soap except it is $15.00 instead of $7.00 to $10.00. I'm not sure what the difference is between this and some other natural or herbal type of soap and why this costs more. When you use it, it does lather some but a "Remarkably Rich Lather" seems like a bit of a stretch. Remarkably rich compared to water maybe, but not in relation to any other soap type of thing I would put on my face. After using this, my beard and face felt nice and clean but not any more so than when using anything else. My skin felt pretty soft and a little bit dry but not overly so. I'm not sure what makes this "exfoliating" as there is no grit to it.I also tried using this as a regular bar of soap in the shower for the whole body. It fails for that. There is virtually zero lather and it doesn't feel like it is doing anything whether you are standing in the water stream coming out of the shower or you step out of it and just use the soap on wet skin without the water showering down on you. When rubbed into a washcloth it really doesn't work either. This is a decent soap for washing your beard and your face but I don't feel like it is significantly better than other options you have. It smells nice and it gentle on the skin. You could ditch your facial cleanser and use this instead but if you already have a shampoo, soap or body wash and some sort of facial cleanser, this seems like a product that there is no need for. It's an expensive good quality bar of soap that I don't think is necessary.
