Works well at close range and is great for putting the radio in your pocket. Mine looks like a standard antenna on a Baofeng radio. I think in a warehouse or on a big construction site, even going from car to car on the freeway, this can work well for most people. In the dense forest, the distance was very limited because the na-701 antenna worked very well. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that the blue imprint started to wear off just by putting it on my radio, it doesn't affect the function of the antenna but you would think the imprint is semi permanent should be.
