Temperature preparation is important to get the most out of this bottle.

My first impression of this bottle was not very good. I cleaned it, filled it with ice (standard size ice cubes) and filled it with water. Within 2 hours all the ice melted. The water was cold and stayed cold for hours, but the ice loss so quickly meant there must have been a cold leak somewhere. I decided to go ahead and try it at work. Filled it with ice and water before leaving home at 10pm and within 2 hours the ice melted leaving me with only cold water. I ended up taking out the double that day and filling it with ice (the ice machine at work makes 1 x 1 x 3/8 inch pieces) and water. Using it for 8 hours on my second shift of the day, I noticed that the ice didn't melt. I pulled it out that evening before returning to work and found it had about half the ice left in it from the morning, filled it up with water and used it for another 8 hours. It still had ice in it when I got home the next morning and 12 hours later that night it still had ice in it. Preparing for the temperature seems very important to get the most out of this bottle. It's been 44 hours since I'm typing this. The last time I filled it with ice, I just finished the second full bottle of water with that ice and we still have a small amount of ice left. Overall, I'm incredibly impressed with the heat retention in this bottle. 3 Month Update: This bottle has held up remarkably well considering usage rates over the past 3 months. I've been using this bottle daily at work for the past 3 months and have seen 2-3 refills per shift. The finish has held up very well, suggesting I also carry it in a bottle cage clipped to my bag. So far the only damage it has is a dent and crease on the bottom edge caused by my bag falling a little over 5ft after the shoulder strap came loose. I'm still very impressed with the bottle overall and will most likely get another one as a backup.
