I purchased this product in preparation for my honeymoon in Jamaica where we knew we would be spending a lot of time on the sand and in the water. Features you'll find on any basic point and shoots model, but water and shock resistance are the standout features. I tested them several times in normal conditions before we left and the image quality was the same as other non-waterproof cameras. We've enjoyed using it in places we'd never use a real camera for fear of damaging it. I've dropped it upstream a few times, submerged it in water for long periods while snorkeling, and dived almost to the limit. The pictures turned out great both in and out of the water. This was a really big benefit on a trip where you'll be spending most of your time in the water or on the sand. We had no fears that the camera wouldn't handle what we gave it. I would highly recommend this camera as an addition to any traveler's arsenal. We have some great cameras but this one is worth it for your adventure and playtime.
