This ring prevents hair from going down the drain. Like all hair traps, it somewhat slows the flow of water. I would like it to be done in color to make it less noticeable, like white, off-white, almond or gray. The gray color is designed for sinks and pairs best with a chrome drain plug. It fits snugly and stays in place and also prevents small items like receipts and rings from accidentally falling down the drain. A big disappointment for me is that you can't push on the hose plug to fill the tub hose with that ring still in place. This prevents my stopper from falling. For this reason, as well as because of the price and the strong colors, I am deducting a star from the rating. It distracts from the noble look of the bathroom. I was offered a reward for writing an honest review.
