The small top pocket is too high, things fall out

I really wanted to like this backpack. It's very light and soft, has a cute color, fits easily (without having to fold it neatly) in a bag for things, and I really liked my hobo bag from the same company. However, the small pocket on the upper front is inconveniently placed. It's too high. In this pocket I put my wallet, keys, phone, some pens. They fit great. The problem is that if I open this bag to get something and don't close it again immediately, the bag turns upside down, especially when the larger compartment is also open. The bag has no structure. It doesn't seem that difficult to just close it, but in practice it is. I often reach into this bag to take something out briefly, to put it back in soon - for example my wallet, to make a purchase, and maybe this purchase falls into a large area, which is also open. Things always fall out or because I know it's a problem I worry that it is. I ended up buying the neatpack which has a more secure small pocket in the main large compartment and another pocket on the "belly". The bag is not perfect, but quite good. I also tried the Outlander, which seemed less roomy than the Neatpack but didn't look much smaller, and the pockets weren't quite what I wanted. I found the straps on the Outlander to be more comfortable.
