Overall this is a good product (this review may differ, but it's a really good product). It's not 100% metal, which has its pros and cons. Advantages: Low weight, therefore no additional strain due to shifting. Universally applicable. Although my car is unthreaded, the katana still fits with the correct rubber adapter and screws provided. Because it's light, I feel the transitions from parking to reversing etc. are flawless. Installing this product was very easy. Cons: The katana doesn't slide very far when shifting, so the grip sits quite high (blocks the AC and part of the touchscreen when the car is parked, see attached image) and it's not 100% metal. So I'm sure it will wear out a little quicker over time. The handle is plastic, and the bottom plate of the katana will dangle and slide off instantly. While the car was in motion I had a couple of random tiptronic/manual trips. That's because the grip is long and because it doesn't sit far enough, you can push the shifter slightly to the side, which triggers the Tiptronic/Manumat system and shifts the car into manual gear. The size of the hilt is ideal as you can fit about a hand and a half on the hilt (when held like a sword). I just wish the grip could slide down about 2-3 inches then that would be perfect. The screws on the handle stick out a bit, but that's not a problem for me. The bottom plate color is a light bronze, while the metal plate on the knob is more chrome (a bit of bronze) and the underside is a true chrome color (the metal that connects to the shift rod). I want all the metal parts to be the same color, but each piece is a different color. I plan to do some work on the handle to make the whole katana sit lower and look better. Good concept product, just needs a little more work to get a better overall product. I recommend this item, but be aware of the cons I've listed. This fits my 2013 Dodge Charger R/T (unthreaded shifter).
