I figured the universal remote couldn't be more difficult for my wife and kids than the 5 remotes we had in our theater room. So I ordered this without research knowing it might work with more than enough devices as it can complicate things. I don't want to go into all the details but here is my setup followed by what needs to be done to preconfigure the features for reference for people with similar setups. My setup: Epson projector, Yamaha receiver, Comcast cable box, Apple TV, Steam Link, Samsung Bluray What do I need to do to change the features? , press 3, press DVD button Watch Apple TV, press AVR button, press 4, press TV button, explain the difference between TV, Apple TV and TV button to my family for the hundredth time. Play games: Activate SteamLink by pressing the button on the Xbox controller, press the AVR button, press 2, not the number 2. , shortcut key 2. Black screen, switch to another input, press the AVR button, press 1, 3 or 4, press AVR Press 2 again and get the picture. Turn everything off: Press the power button (everything but the projector turns off, although it turns on without issue), press AVR1, press the small power button 3 times to finally turn off the projector. Don't press the power button too quickly, just hold it down for 3 seconds. These are my programmed responses to angry texts and calls I receive daily from my family after simplifying my five remote controls for the room we use twice a week. I hate that. If you want to upgrade to Logitech, spend $200 and get one that does everything you need it to do. I installed an older Logitech 700 for my parents a few years ago and it was bulletproof. I could see how it works with a simple installation of a cable/TV receiver in a bedroom, but I have a really sour taste in my mouth with this device and I won't bother going down another frustrating route, to get people to find out. It's important to me, but it's as much work as running five remotes, so is it really functional?
