Used to replace the Viewsonic px700hd lamp. Works great

We have a Viewsonic px700hd that uses an OSRAM P-VIP 203/0.8 E30.5 lamp as standard. We only wanted to replace the bulb, not the entire assembly. There were plenty of OSRAM bulbs, but we found them all with a smaller diameter lens at 20.8. Finding someone 30.5 was next to impossible. Other specs like power were easily met at 200w vs 203, don't worry and the arc gap at 0.8 was a match too. No one, including lamp manufacturers and even ViewSonic, could test whether a 20.8-inch diameter would work or cause installation, image size, or projection issues. So I tried it as a guinea pig and dared. Here's a little news: The lens diameter doesn't matter here and has no influence on brightness, image size or range. was adapted to the size of the floor lamp. BUT the 20.8 size of this lamp just neatly but securely pushes into a hole in the aluminum body and goes nowhere once you step inside. I still set up a flash around it to dissipate the heat and ignited it. looks perfect. We only run in economy mode, so the fan noise is minimal, but the lamp is more than enough. Time will tell about the durability. OEM OSRAM had 6500 hours in economy mode. B4 he went. I made sure to install the new bulb wearing thin latex gloves as any contact with oil on this bulb will result in short life. Even wearing gloves I tried never to touch the lens part of the lamp, just touching the ceramic back to insert it into the case. I hope this helps others with my projector who need to replace the lamp. You now have a test of what works. I've also seen a 240W/0.8 E20.8 bulb being offered as a replacement for Viewsonic. with melting of the lens and / or burning out of the power supply after some time. I played it safe and compared the performance with this lamp here. Beware of counterfeit copies from OSRAM! this one is real.
