This stuff will carry a ton. I use hemp instead of cotton because it's handier, but to be honest this stuff doesn't even look like hemp. I ordered this brand because the one I normally use was out of stock and I was really excited because it looks like a small business and the branding was cute but it just didn't live up to expectations. I got stuck on this because I had spent a decent amount on a project that I needed to finish and I just needed to get it working. I will keep it for gardening as it doesn't need to look pretty and I can just use the excess (waste product) to tie a knot. However, for jewelry making or other crafts, I don't recommend it at all. It got to the point where it was just annoying to use. Really disappointed.
