What are my cats thinking? The jury hasn't appeared yet. I put it together a few hours ago, a cat jumped on it and into the "cat house" (as the instructions call a small cave) and hung around there for 15 minutes a couple of times and they both spent some time clinking on it sniffing and walking around the lower level so we'll see. - It's pretty solid and the weight is balanced pretty well, I'm not worried about it breaking, falling apart or tipping over. - There is no special padding (except for the "band" around the upper tier), but everything except the scratching posts is covered in some kind of soft fluffy material. - The instructions are pretty bad: if you have trouble assembling things like furniture, you will be in trouble.
