I have a pretty worn left knee joint so floor work, heavy lifting etc can be pretty bad after a full day. I was initially skeptical about these knee pads because of the price. I thought why not, if I don't like them I'll send them back. Honestly the best knee pads I've ever had. After working with it all day around the house I gave it a closer look before picking it up and I have to say I'm amazed at the quality. First, the front knee brace has solid construction and pattern. Definitely no slip grip, more depth and dimensions (think tire treads). The next method of attachment is a full wrap around the leg, fastening at the side with a slip-on closure (like a jumpsuit). The thick elastic band is 1 foot 1/2 inch wide, and since it fastens at the side, you won't feel any pain at the end of the day when the clip connection digs into the skin on your back. In addition, longer service life of the rubber band over many years of use, since the tension is on the entire band and not just on a marked point. Even if you stretch the elastic over the years, you can still wear it. Finally the area that touched the knee and leg. It was most impressive because of the thoughts that went into it. Whoever designed this used multiple layers of mesh over an industrial foam shell to ensure not only comfort but breathability. The foam shell offers strong support, while the mesh ensures natural air cooling between all layers. I will be buying some for my friends and also an extra pair for myself to keep with me. - Mike M
