Manufacturer claims these covers are thicker than the original covers but they are much thinner than my old one; However, this is a different material (hopefully better). The material is more like the material of my other (newer) air conditioner. The case fits well, the screw holes match. The old case was open at the back, but this case has shutters at the back. It wouldn't have been a problem, but the material on the back was rippled and the backing material lay on the air conditioner fins, blocking airflow. I had to add two fingers protruding under the back to keep the material off the fins.
