While they work very well, I've connected them to Alexa to work and I've had no real problems - setting up an Alexa connection got me an error, but when I tried it after an hour or two, they worked. I got to 50 feet but kind of wish I had 100. I started them at my computer desk and then up and around the top of my bedroom wall; They didn't quite get the full route I planned, but that was my fault. I didn't measure or anything but they stopped at a decent spot so I'm not worried about that. When connecting the strip to the control box, try both options if they don't turn on; At first I thought mine were defective, but I flipped them over and they worked. The only downside is the need to get an app and sign up, but who doesn't spam email for things like that. The app seems decent enough, but I haven't used it too much (Alexa). I use Alexa or sometimes the app so I can't comment on the remote control. Almost a month into installation and once offline but literally took a minute to turn back on. The Wi-Fi signal at this location might be a factor, but mine is one floor up but almost directly above the router.
