FIXED (hangs on purple) and 6 cool things about those lightbulbs!

First of all, FIX! Within the first 5 minutes of use, like many others, I found that the bulbs got stuck on purple. Fixing it is easy, but there are a few things you need to do first. Go to the light switch (on the wall or lamp) and turn off the light. Follow the lightbulb. If it stays purple, you'll notice that the lightbulb doesn't turn off immediately. It quickly turns red and disappears. This is very quick, mind you, but in that split second you have to use the remote to press the "G" button on the bottom of the remote (green button). NOT at the same time as the shutdown, but in quick succession. If you get it right, you'll see the light turn green for a moment before going out. Turn it back on and the light will turn green and now you can control the bulb with the remote again. I should note that this problem lasted about two weeks. Each time I was able to fix it using the process above. After that, I had no more bulbs stuck to purple or any other color. The color is very fun but honestly I find the novelty dated. They are still very cool and I think everyone should have a set. But I found myself using the regular lightbulb options and maybe orange (it's a nice background color). 6 interesting things: First, you actually get 10 options for regular white bulbs. 2 color temperatures (at 2700 and 6500 Kelvin) and 5 brightness levels (lumens). At 2700 Kelvin (that's the yellowish color that most incandescent bulbs resemble) you get about 40W, 50W, 75W and 100W of equivalent brightness (which is measured in lumens, not watts, but we've grown in watts) . ). I am only listing 4 brightness options as two of them were identical. At 6500 Kelvin, another household light option, you get 5 more brightness options. Think of it like that super bright white light you might remember from your fluorescent task light in the garage. Second, these bulbs don't heat up! They run at 10 watts so the amount of heat they give off is very small and not like old incandescent bulbs. Run your hand over the bulb (without touching it) and you won't feel much heat. So if one of your lights is a bit obscured, you need to buy LED bulbs immediately. Third, they save money! Because they run at 10W and are equivalent to a 100W/1600 lumen incandescent bulb, you get the same brightness for 10% of the cost (AKA, 90% savings). I recommend replacing all lightbulbs in your house with LEDs (maybe they don't need all the color options that those lightbulbs have, but LED lightbulbs are getting cheaper and cheaper). Fourth, these bulbs are rated to last 50,000 hours or more. Where incandescent lamps last around 1000 hours and compact fluorescent lamps around 10,000 hours. Fifth, in my day you had to buy a special lamp and bulb or wall switch that was a rheostat to dim the light. With this package you get a remote control with 5 dimming options. And sixth, you get a remote control that you can use to lie in bed and turn off the lights. Or, if you like to fall asleep with the lights on, set a timer (2 or 4 hours). The only recommendation other than I think everyone should try these bulbs is that I would buy a set of 4 bulbs and 2 remotes. At the time of writing the review, the price is the same.
