FUNCTION: Took a day trip to Anacapa Island National Park where there was no water source - all drinking water had to be packed. I'm so glad I bought this backpack! The tank held about three and a half bottles of cold water (included) which gave me a cool drink all day (five hours). This is made possible by the insulated, largest part of the backpack. The package includes a reservoir and straw with a simple design that twists to close to prevent leakage and a cap at the end to protect the mouthpiece from debris. The straw goes through the hole and along one of the straps for easy access when hiking. POCKETS/COMPARTMENTS: There are handy pockets inside the compartments and some outside the pack for easy access. COLOR: Light purple color just like the picture and I was very happy with my choice. SIZE: Smaller than the average backpack, it had enough room to carry a variety of items without being overloaded. It does not look like a children's backpack, but it is quite possible to use it for a teenager. BELTS: Padded shoulder straps with chest and hip straps for body attachment. D loops on both sides. CONCLUSION: My trip has become much more comfortable thanks to this backpack. It was the best purchase I've made in a long time. This is a quality product that will last for years. It makes me want to get back on the road! Buy this backpack for a day trip or in place of an amusement park bag.
