Once the coaxial cable enters my house it splits into 9 different cables going to different parts of the house and to a high speed broadband modem . One of the passageways actually leaves the house through an underground pipeline to a secluded cottage over 300 feet away. Other runs are 100 to 200 feet from where the cable source enters the building. A few years ago, our cable provider, Time Warner, switched all of their customers to digital television, and all televisions required a digital converter. Since then, the signal in the remote cottage was poorly received via cable, and in another place the signal even strengthened, then disappeared, which led to a complete failure of television reception. I tried different amps to solve these problems and bought one from (Radio Shack and another from Home Depot). Both were junk and made in China. They were a waste of time and money, and none of them solved the problems that arose. Then I came across the Electroline 2900 and from the looks of it it was really high quality and it was designed and manufactured to solve the problems I was having so I took a chance and bought it. I quickly installed it and screwed the incoming coaxial cable into the amplifier's RF connector. I removed any existing splitters (splitters actually degrade the db signal) and connected each outgoing cable to the amp's outgoing ports. This unit also has a dedicated modem port for connecting the Electroline amp directly to a cable modem, so I connected the modem to the port on the amp. Note: (This amplifier is not designed to work with satellite cable). Call the company for further instructions. The power cord and power supply were quick to install too, and there is a green LED that illuminates to indicate the amp has power and is working. Installation Results: All signal degradation throughout the cable network has been completely eliminated. Fixed constant loss and loss of signal at two points in the house. The speed of all cable modems has been improved and cable splitters that reduce the signal have been eliminated. This is a real amp and it really works, unlike Chinese fakes! I wouldn't hesitate to buy this if the issues described in this review are similar. However, I would recommend that you look closely at Electroline's line of amplifiers first to ensure you are purchasing the right model that is most likely to solve your problem.
