Review on 💻 Kinesis Advantage2 Ergonomic Keyboard (KB600) - Black Top Case, Cherry MX Brown Switches, QWERTY Keycaps by Brian Edwards

I've been watching this keyboard for years. I've always preferred a split/ergonomic keyboard, but I also prefer mechanical key switches. I've tried most ergonomic keyboards, the MS 4000 (nice, but oversized and horribly curved switches) and its predecessor, the newer Sculpt model (good basic design, short-lived keys, and some stupid functional options). and arrow keys) and so on. So I finally bit the bullet and decided it was time to try this and it's pretty cool. But be prepared for a period of "acceleration”. On your first day, you'll wonder if you can type at all. At least that was my experience. Just completely alien, even though it's basically a standard QWERTY layout (which can also be customized if you're one of those weirdos). This keyboard is not sympathetic to your bad habits. It's not an ergonomic separation, but the key layout isn't shifted in the way you're probably used to, either, and the spacing between keys is minimal. As well as several buttons that have now been moved to the thumb area. But there is good news: a) you get used to it pretty quickly. b) You can remap each button as you like. I took the opportunity to remap a few keys from the start, so I swapped the spacebar/enter, moved the command/option and control keys to a different location in the thumb area, and so on. So yeah, it really is as good as I've heard. Be aware that it takes work on your part to become proficient at it, but once you do, the rewards are well worth it.
