EXTREMELY POOR CONSTRUCTION Although this part appears to match the original toilet lever and did not take long to install, it is useless for toilet flushing. Once installed you have to push down very hard to activate the lever and then it stays in the down position and the water keeps flowing into the tank until you fiddle with it, wait for the tank to fill up, and then another little fiddling around . My 87 year old mom will never be able to handle this properly so our tank will run all night wasting hundreds of dollars in water. The original shut-off lever had a simple, smooth shaft that allowed the handle to be extended after flushing, releasing a plug that sealed the drain from the tank and stopped the fill pump. This handle is just an extension of the bolt needed to attach the assembly to the tank. . I tried to detach the nut, but then the whole thing almost fell apart. By the way: HACKSAW? INDEED?
