Review on BenQ eReading LED Desk Lamp: Eye-Care, Auto-Dimming, CRI 95, Adjustable Color Temperatures, Wide Illumination with Swing Arm for Home Office, Bedroom, Living Room (Silver) by James Brault

Sturdy construction, modern, good lighting, EXPENSIVE. Why didn't they make a black version?

I updated my closet for the whole WFH situation. My current lighting was pretty dated - an old college style architectural lamp (20 years ago). My new desk is more modern and I was looking for the right lamp. After looking at dozens of options, this was the one that was well reviewed and looked exactly what I was looking for. I also wanted an LED bulb that wasn't too cold in color temperature (I hate this sterile type of lighting). This offers multiple brightness settings and different color temperature settings. LED lighting is typically very directional and not diffuse like traditional lighting. Because of this, most LED lights require a diffuser, and even then it's not that widely available in terms of light coverage. With this lamp, the extra curvature helps spread the light over a larger area. I have white and silver. The silver is beautiful while the white is more of a creamy white. It's well made, durable aluminum and thick braided line. The touch ring is very sensitive, but in a good way. The knob requires some fiddling to figure out when you're in the brightness setting rather than the color temperature setting. And the automatic atmosphere detection mode works well. I don't use it too much. My two biggest downsides are the price. This is quite expensive for a simple table lamp. 2. WHY THERE IS NO BLACK VERSION! Black is preferred for most office color schemes. So I have a white/silver lamp on a red/black table. Doesn't match my color scheme. I wish there were more options but this is the nicest and best I could find. If I had more space, I would go for a floor stand.
