Review on ๐Ÿ›๏ธ 100 Pack Resealable Mylar Bags - Airtight, Smell Proof, 5.6 x 8 inches with Zipper Lock - Perfect for Food Storage & Holiday Packaging! by Andy Jolley

Bags are not Mylar! They are aluminum.

, I tried using them to store 1 or 2 cups of flour. I have found that these bags do not seal completely and are definitely NOT waterproof or odor proof. There is an error in the design of the zipper edges on the sides of the pockets that don't close completely (red ovals). Flour oozed slightly from the edges of the zipper as I tried to get all the air out. Not to mention I nearly ruined my wife's $100 iron trying to seal the top of the packages. Its packaging immediately melted and curled up, it was so flimsy. I think they make great gifts at children's parties. However, they are by no means intended for the long-term storage of food. They are made of aluminum and thin plastic. I didn't try to seal the tops of the packages in my photos with my wife's iron, I almost ruined it after the first try. DO NOT BUY THESE BAGS! However, if you are looking for good long-term storage, buy bags that are at least 5 or 7 mils thick. Also, DO NOT use oxygen scavengers with sugar or salt (will brick), baking soda, or protective powder (may explode).

Pros
  • REUSABLE CLOSURE: Each Mylar pouch is strong enough to withstand repeated use without tearing. Mylar bags have a zipper with a sealing strip to keep out water, moisture, dust or odors when sealed.
Cons
  • For the old
