I first discovered the butter crock while sitting with a neighbor who had one. Many years later I found one that was handmade and I really liked it. After it broke I looked for a new one and at the time had no luck finding one that wasn't too expensive and ugly. I was thrilled when I stumbled upon this one in a different color and after a lot of searching finally found it in navy blue and really liked it. Since I keep it on the counter I can butter toast or whatever as opposed to butter which is kept in the fridge. Thanks to its design, the oil stays fresh. I add new water every few days and wash the jug before adding new oil. My daughter loves when I make fresh homemade butter, especially when I bake bread. I would highly recommend this pot and the seller. I arrived quickly and very well packaged so there is little chance of it breaking.
