Review on ⚡ Intermatic IG1240RC3: Gray Whole Home Surge Protection Device - Type-1 or 2 by Jared Winebrenner

I bought this surge protector for my whole house after a massive snow storm tore down huge branches on my power line and destroyed the neutral wire. The resulting surge damaged multiple appliances, fluorescent lights and fixtures, and EVERY surge protector in the home. Several of these network filters caught fire. Fortunately, most of them protect their devices. Lesson: Don't buy cheap surge protectors. I replaced them all with high quality devices. While the electrician was installing the generator's emergency power circuit breaker, I asked him to install this Intermatic surge protector. A few months later, a huge lightning bolt struck a 13kV primary power line across the street, splitting a pole and dropping the primary line directly into my home's secondary power line. The lightning also blew up the main transformer, cutting off power to the area. Surprisingly, after power was restored, there was absolutely NO DAMAGE TO ANY of my devices or electronic devices. The tread indicator remained bright green, indicating continued protection. Since then we've had two more close hits that could have damaged something in the house. Again, NOTHING was damaged and the indicator continues to glow a reassuring bright green. I'm glad I have this surge protector and I highly recommend it.
